ABOUT THE PROJECT

Ember Fitness is a personal training app that helps people build sustainable workout habits with guided sessions and progress tracking. Bravox was brought in to design the full mobile experience — from onboarding to daily use — creating an app that motivates without overwhelming and keeps people coming back.

THE PROBLEM

Ember had a strong concept but a clunky early prototype. Onboarding was long, the core workout flow was buried, and users dropped off within the first week. The interface looked dated next to the polished apps it was competing with.

We redesigned the app around a simple, motivating daily loop and a clean, energetic interface:

THE APPROACH

We knew the battle for a fitness app is won in the first week, so we obsessed over the early experience. Onboarding was cut down to the essentials, and the home screen was reorganized so the single most important action — starting today's workout — is always one tap away.

Motivation came from the details. Progress is made visible and rewarding, streaks and milestones are celebrated with subtle motion, and feedback is immediate so every action feels responsive. The visual system is bold and energetic without being loud, giving the brand a distinct personality across every screen.

We delivered the app as a complete, documented design system, so Ember's team can ship new features without losing consistency. The jump in retention and daily usage confirmed what the redesign set out to prove: a clearer, more motivating experience keeps people training.
